About the Event

What is it about?

Back to basics is a 4 part series designed to get you feeling confident and comfortable on the mat. With such full, busy lives it can be difficult to find the time and tools to help destress and get back in touch with yourself and your body. This workshop series with gives you the opportunity to learn the foundations of yoga practice, improve your strength and flexibility and gain insight into the many benefits yoga has to offer.

The 4 parts in this series are:

Part 1: Sun Salutations

Part 2: Standing and Balance Postures

Part 3: Seated and Floor Postures

Part 4: Breath Work, Yoga History and Philosophy

In Part 3 we will cover a range of seated and floor postures. Breaking down each posture, how to transition, variations of each and their benefits.

Poses Covered Part 3:

• Staff Pose

• Foward bend

• Bound angle pose

• wide angle seated forward bend

• Pigeon Pose

• Bridge Pose

• Fish Pose

• Lord of the Fishes Pose

• Shoulder Stand

• Wheel Pose

What you can expect to learn?

Each part will cover a different aspect of yoga and giving you understanding of yoga in your body and how it relates to life off the mat. Each part consists of a workshop style class of 1.5 hours. This gives us plenty of time to ask questions, dissect poses and go deeper into our practice. For each Part you will receive a written copy of what we cover in the workshop so you have it to reference after you leave

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed for those with little to no yoga experience who wish to start their yoga journey and for those wishing to strip it back and re-explore the fundamentals. Everyone is welcome!

What will I need?

All you have to bring is yourself and a readiness to learn! We recommend you wear something comfy that you can move in and bring along a notepad to make some notes along the way if you wish. We have mats and props ready and waiting for you but if you would like to bring along your own then you are welcome too.
